RUNNER UP

"It Is That"

It is, when on the weakest of nights,

It’s that, which tells me to bravely fight.
It is when I worked hard for disappoints,
It’s that, which comforts me, my every joint.

It was when I doubted that truth,
Still, it was that acted as proof.
It was when I knelt in desperation,
There it dawned and brought reconciliation.

Not once, not twice, but thrice,
It healed my broken cries.

And as I asked for a little more,
It willingly answered and cured my sore.

I say, “It’s that, it’s that!”

Without a clue, not knowing “what’s that.”
It is the love so out of this earth.
It is that, the very beauty of Christ’s love.
