As technology advances, the development of
artificial intelligence has been rooted in many
aspects of our lives. Despite its crucial role in our
daily lives, there is still a lack of familiarity with
artificial intelligence in the global community. Artifi- foundation for future technology development.
cial intelligence, abbreviated AI, is the simulation of
human intelligence including our thoughts and
behaviours into machines. It provides computer
programs the ability to think and learn without
human assistance. The three main types of AI are
narrow, general, and super. In my opinion, artificial
intelligence is a double-edged sword that aids and
harms us at the same time. What do I mean by that?
Undeniably speaking, artificial intelligence greatly
improves the efficiency of human work. It reduces
human errors and significantly increases accuracy
because every decision made by AI involves a set of
precise algorithms. The high availability of
artificial intelligence compared to humans
allows them to work ceaselessly, but on
the contrary, humans are only produc-
tive for three to four hours a day. AI
can think a lot faster than humans and
perform multiple tasks simultaneously,
which humans can hardly achieve.
The ability to automate menial chores
proves AI to be an effective assistant
to humans.

Above all, artificial intelligence has a wide range of
applications in the world. In the field of education,
AI helps educators in creating smart content such
as videos and animations to enhance the learning
process of students. Using AI technologies,
personalized learning can be easily achieved. This
advanced invention also has a huge impact on our
lifestyle. Some examples would be autonomous
vehicles with sensors to avoid accidents and the
facial recognition function of many smartphones to
provide secure access. In the realm of navigation,
artificial intelligence is also utilized to help travel-
lers get to their destinations. From these exam-
ples, we know that artificial intelligence is applied
in many areas of our lives and has laid a firm
Although artificial intelligence benefits the world,
it also brings many possible problems to our future
generations. One of the biggest issues is unem-
ployment. As a form of artificial intelligence, robots
are gradually replacing human resources, espe-
cially in industries. Surveys that have been done
say that AI would replace about 300 million human
jobs in the future. That is not a small number!
Another serious problem that may be caused by
artificial intelligence is humans becoming lazy. The
capability of AI to automate tedious and repetitive
tasks would make humans rely heavily on them.
Some people are even concerned that
artificial intelligence may dominate
humanity someday in the future.
In conclusion, there are pros and
cons of artificial intelligence. AI makes
our lives convenient but also threatens
humans in a few ways.
Therefore, I think that artificial intelli-
gence is a double-edged sword.
