SENSORY INTEGRATION TRAINING

Our special education department has recently established a sensory room, providing a dedicated space for sensory experiences and stimulation. This sensory room offers a multitude of benefits for our students with special needs. Firstly, it promotes self-regulation and sensory integration by providing a controlled environment where students can engage with various sensory stimuli. The room includes features like soft lighting, textured surfaces, calming sounds, and sensory equipment, which help students to manage sensory input and enhance their sensory processing abilities. Moreover, the sensory room supports relaxation and stress reduction, allowing students to find a calm and soothing environment when they experience sensory overload or heightened anxiety. It also serves as a therapeutic space for occupational therapy sessions, helping students to improve their fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and body awareness. Overall, the introduction of the sensory room in our special education department is proving to be a valuable resource that fosters sensory development, self-regulation, and overall well-being for our students with special needs.
